Hideaways

This lovely, sylvan treehouse is set in a perfect location: a private island on Italy’s Lake Garda.  The client asked for a comfortable focal point to his island hideaway, somewhere that would be both a great place to read and relax and a venue for barbecue parties and entertaining.  The extensive veranda built at the front of the treehouse provides ample space for this.  The exterior of the treehouse is finished in softwood tongue and groove cladding, and the roof is finished with cedar shingles.  The many windows make the most of the sunlight and dappled shade, and there is a special sunbathing deck.  Although this aerial complex is built in and around the tree, no fixings have been driven into the living wood so that the trees can thrive and grow normally.
