Blue Forest’s Top 10 Moments at Chelsea Flower Show 2016

We have to admit; Chelsea Flower Show was an amazing week. There isn’t another show like it, with the best horticultural designers in the world coming together to compete for those prestigious gold medals. Being our first time exhibiting at the show, we wanted to give visitors something special so we focused on creating a display that was not only exquisitely crafted but also carefully detailed with some creative Blue Forest touches. We’re delighted to say that The Enchanted Playhouse went down a treat with celebrities, visitors and fellow exhibitors alike, with queues of people climbing up into our treehouse to take a look. Now we’ve had the chance to stop and reflect, we’ve been able to put together our Top Ten Moments:

1.When we got to see the most incredible gardens being built from scratch by over 800 people. Build up at Chelsea is a wonderful thing to be a part of:

2. When we had to swing our Enchanted Playhouse across the Fresh area on a massive crane:

3. When we got to make new friends with some brilliantly talented people, such as the guys from Propagating Dan Landscape Design, Andy Gage from The Firepit Company and the contemporary sculptor John O’Connor:

4. When Simon realised that Rob Brydon had copied his outfit:

5. When we were awarded three gold stars – not bad for Chelsea newbies!

6. When we could officially say that our treehouses are endorsed by Hearing Guide Dogs, Chelsea Pensioners and Little Princesses:

7. When we had to give Carrie Fisher’s French bulldog Gary some water from a bottle because he was thirsty.

Here they are with Andy Sturgeon who won Best Show Garden:

8. When we got to enjoy the special arrangements made to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday.

9. When Simon was interviewed by Gladwell & Patterson – you can watch the video here.

10. When the public surprised us with different ideas for the glass floor peephole.

Ideas ranged from a floor aquarium to a large telescope going right through the middle of the treehouse.

We had a fantastic week and would like to thank everyone from the RHS for their fantastic support and encouragement throughout the last couple of months. We met some great people at the show and saw some amazing sights so thank you to everyone involved to help make the show an unforgettable experience.
