The Crow’s Nest Treehouse, Aldro School

  • Treehouse – School Adventure Play

    Location: Surrey

    Form Of Contract: Individual Terms

Built for Aldro Preparatory School, this treehouse is situated on an island in the school lake. The treehouse was named by the school pupils. The name “The Crow’s Nest” fits in well with both the building’s maritime theme and the birds that live in the tree!

The treehouse structure is open sided with a Cedar shingle roof. The main structure stands approximately 1.2m from the ground level. The fun tree deck provides an unusual place for children to play and an exciting space for outdoor teaching. It is accessible via a ladder and several other play items. The island itself is accessible via a 5m rope bridge from the mainland.

The tree house deck includes a climbing wall, fireman’s pole, a ship’s wheel, flag pole and an abacus and a scramble net.

“There’s a new treehouse on the island on the school lake – ‘extremely popular,’ says head David Aston”.
