Planning Granted For Amazing New Treehouse

Blue Forest are delighted to have been granted planning permission for the construction of an amazing new tree house. The modern and contemporary tree house has a sculptural quality, which will enchance the garden landscape whilst providing a user-friendly family hideaway.

The main structure of the tree house will be supported by a series of Glulam uprights which will surround a cylindrical room with access to a geodesic glass dome. The main Glulam beams will be punctuated with thinner curved wooden elements that will compliment the vertical aesthetic. The main tree house room will be clad in diamond shaped Cedar shingles. This cladding has been chosen to break up the horizontal elements of the floor and wall-plate and to compliment the diagonal structure of the geodesic dome. Access to the tree house is via a dramatic spiral staircase leading to a small landing and front door. This will allow the ground level section of the structure to be open to the elements while the main room and dome will be fully weather tight. The dome will be accessed by steps rising up above the first floor landing, thereby utilizing what would have been wasted space. The geodesic dome will be fully glazed and will offer a unique stargazing and sleepover space.
