    Andy Payne

    Managing Director

    Andy is the founder of Blue Forest and a successful and creative business entrepreneur with more than fifteen years experience in the construction industry;  BA (Hons) Degree in Business & Design.

    Andy has a passion for art and is the creative driving force behind many of Blue Forest’s crazy tree house schemes! If you can imagine it Andy will find a way to build it!

    Born & raised in Kenya.

    Simon Payne


    Simon heads up the PR & Marketing of Blue Forest’s amazing tree houses.

    Simon has a passion for design, technology and for the great outdoors! Before joining his brother Andy in Blue Forest, Simon worked in a number of countries from Kenya to Nicaragua in conservation and international development.

    Born & raised in Kenya.

  • Will Hardy

    Will Hardy


    Will is a self-motivated, capable and energetic individual. Will and Simon work together with private clients and in the marketing and sale of Blue Forest’s luxury tree houses.

    Will is a keen sportsman at both competitive and recreational levels including; dinghy and yacht sailing, windsurfing, triathlon, and mountaineering.

  • Matthew Harwood

    Matthew Harwood

    3D Architectural Designer

    Matthew has 24 year’s experience creating imagery and models for design, marketing and new media.

    Matthew is an active proponent of open source software and uses Blender and Luxrender as primary tools for design and visualisation.

    Interests include field archery, baking bread and complex fluid dynamic systems.

    Flo Kentish

    Interior Designer

    Flo is our interior designer who has an amazing natural flair for coming up with imaginative fun ideas for personalised designs that bring our client’s tree houses to life.

    She is a country girl at heart with a passion for travel, adventure and the outdoors… and would love to live in a Blue Forest tree house one day!

    Shar Maytum

    Office Manager

    Shar & her bubbly personality are the glue that binds us all together & maintains the smooth running of all company operations.

    Out of the office, Shar has a love for discovering new countries and cultures, combining her two passions, the love of good food and spending time with friends and family.

  • Ben Lutyens

    Ben Lutyens

    Project Manager

    Ben has broad experience bridging timber frame construction, consulting and environmental engineering.

    Out of work Ben gets stuck into self build. He loves working with wood and enjoys the great outdoors!

  • Ian Collins

    Ian Collins


    Ian has been working in Accountancy for over 40 years and brings to the Blue Forest team a wealth of experience.

    Ian is happily married and his hobbies include singing, history and family research.

    Ian has been a member of the London Bach Choir for over 20 years and has traveled to China, South Africa and other faraway places.

  • Mari Shirley

    Architectural Assistant

    Mari has just graduated from The University of Sheffield and has done a fantastic job so far in her first position in the industry, with a real flair for concept sketching and creative design. A strong interest in the restoration of historic buildings based her university thesis and she was highly involved within the architecture society, holding a number of successful events as the social secretary.

    Mari loves to travel, with a passion for experiencing new places and cultures, as well as enjoying the great outdoors with her golden retriever and occasionally going horse-riding or skiing.

  • Charlie Kitchenham

    Contracts Manager

    Charlie joins our team with nearly ten years of project management experience. Working closely with the Blue Forest Design Team and Directors, he ensures each project is delivered to our exacting standards on time and to budget.

    Outside of work he spends his spare time exploring the Kent and Sussex countryside with his wife and two dogs. He also enjoys watching live motorsports with friends either in the UK or abroad.


  • Becky Marshall

    Architectural Assistant

    Becky is our treehouse designer and the latest member to join the team. Previously graduating from the University of Brighton with a degree in Interior Architecture she is an enthusiastic individual, bringing a fun and creative approach to projects.

    Out of work Becky is enjoying learning woodwork, currently making bespoke cups and plates.

  • Caryn Mitten

    Caryn Mitten

    Admin Assistant

    Caryn is our Admin Assistant, responsible for all general administration duties within the office. Since starting at Blue Forest, she has found that one very important task is ensuring the coffee machine is always stocked with the fabulous roasted coffee beans.

    Originally from South Africa, Caryn and her family moved to the UK a few years ago. They spend their time exploring the beautiful English countryside, visiting historic sites and indulging in cream teas whenever possible.

  • Barry McGowan

    Barry McGowan

    Architectural Assistant

    Barry graduated from his master’s degree in Queen’s University Belfast and is currently studying towards his Part 3 qualification. He has vast knowledge and experience in all design stages, although his personal focus is within the detailed technical design of a project as he believes that it is essential that every joint in a design is carefully considered.

    Outside the office Barry enjoys cycling, cooking, photography and strolling the length and breadth of cities, particularly new destinations, recording and drawing as he goes.

  • Ayron Brindley-Avery

    Assistant Project Manager

    Ayron attended Kingston University and since graduating has gained experience in varied areas of Project Management. Ayron has been around interior design her whole life and loves the creative concepts the designers develop at Blue Forest. Her position enables her to utilise both her creative skills as well as her organisational capabilities. She loves seeing each stage of a project evolve, each of which she feels has its own beauty but none of which rival the final product, which Ayron believes always have their own magical quality.

    Outside the office Ayron enjoys hiking with her dog, cooking and particularly kick boxing when she has the chance.
