the brief

Welcome to Outdoor Living

The family wanted an idyllic space that encompassed all aspects of outdoor living, which would be nestled within the treeline where they could enjoy the uninterrupted views across the surrounding countryside. As part of the brief, we were asked to design an elegant treehouse, an outdoor kitchen and a sunken firepit which would complement their beautiful garden.

Celebrating the best of living outdoors

Designed to accommodate for the family’s every possible need, this is the ideal retreat for those seeking tranquility and rejuvenation in an outdoor open-plan setting. Nestled among the trees towards the back of the garden, Outdoor Living offers a luxurious lifestyle concept where days can be spent completely out in the open air. A spacious decked area is located in the centre, with a large family dining table which allows for al-fresco breakfasts, lunches and suppers. Evening grills and Italian feasts can be prepared in the beautifully crafted outdoor kitchen which is complete with drinks fridge, BBQ and pizza oven. The outdoor kitchen forms an organic curved counter, sheltered by a similar cedar shingle roof line to the treehouse.

The decked area flows on to a hot tub and sunken fire pit, where warm drinks and toasted marshmallows can be shared as the evening draws in. Across a rope bridge, the treehouse is a wonderful space to enjoy throughout the seasons. In the summer you can open up the doors onto a large deck which sits high in the branches, where you can sit and take in the magnificent views of the adjoining fields. The interior is elegantly furnished with hand-chosen pieces of furniture and comfortable textiles, making it the perfect place for snuggling up with a good book in front of the log-burning stove when the weather gets colder.
