Opening of Fort Douglas: The New Adventure Playground at Dalkeith Country Park

With the start of the summer holidays next week, you’ll probably be on the lookout for things to keep the kids busy and occupied. If you live near Edinburgh or are planning on staying up there over the summer, then we’ve got a pretty cool suggestion: get yourselves over to Dalkeith Country Park for the opening of their new adventure playground, Fort Douglas. We put our very best design hats on to create a truly unique play park for kids to explore for years to come. Fort Douglas is part of a multi-million pound redevelopment project at Dalkeith, which now has a new restaurant, shopping and wellness space in addition to the adventure play park. Watch the timelapse video to see how we fixed the new footbridge into place.

There’s something for everyone, with huge slides, lofty wooden walkways, tunnels and jungle climbers for the older kids and a toddler area for the younger adventurer. Of course no Blue Forest play park is complete without a treehouse, and Fort Douglas is no exception. An incredible treehouse with stairs, tunnels and different levels is there for the taking, and it will keep budding explorers entertained for hours.

Fort Douglas opens on Monday 25th of July. Prices start from £3 for 3 – 5 years and £5 for 6-12 years, with adults and 0-2 years allowed in for free. For more information take a peek at their website here.
